Freezing first column in master view
When zooming in the master view you easily get lost when moving across the pane becasue you cannot see the first column as you move. You should immitate the freezing panes feature MS Excel has.

Set Friday-Saturday as weekend
Our school is in Bangladesh, 12 grades (Pre to G10) and our weekends are Friday and Saturday. I don't see that there is an option to change the school days.
1 voteYou can manage days any way you want, set any number of days, change names, make a copy of timetable for another week, etc. More about days in the user guide: https://primetimetable.com/help/#day&q
In order to get up to speed I recommend checking getting started video tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Izb7xSVpIDE&list=PLKSBn_5RtlMYzo0SSN1BdzSstIRxqA2GS

Not showing teacher periods in student schedule
In some institutions teachers start working earlier for meeting purposes, those periods should not be displayed in the student view. You recommended me to eliminate those periods before printing and not saving the changes but these could lead to an chaos if unintentionally I press the save button.
1 voteThe software assumes equal days/periods for all classes, teachers, rooms and subjects so that other features could be possible such as extra views: https://primetimetable.com/help/#extra.
There are workarounds for different number of periods and different period intervals for specific resources and you can read more about that in the user guide: https://primetimetable.com/help/#period&q -

Period intervals might vary for specific resources, e.g. when scheduling both lower and higher grades in one timetable. Custom periods handle such scenarios by enabling two different actions:
- showing custom periods instead of default periods for specific resources in the related individual views or
- dragging cards to custom intervals for specific resources/days and displaying such intervals inside the cardsMore in the user guide: https://primetimetable.com/help/#custom&q

Ability to export timetable data into an Excel spreadsheet, in list view, with day/time/room/teacher etc all listed in different columns
It would be very useful to see the timetable data in spreadsheet form, instead of block view. i.e. view all timetable data together in one spreadsheet for an overall view, to be able to filter timetable data in a spreadsheet to check that everything is correct would be a great help!
10 votesChoose ‘Owl > Save as > Custom File’ and then select the format that suits you. Currently, we support PowerSchool, iSAMS, SmartSchool and Siged format. You will get a tab or comma separated values file which you can copy/paste into spreadsheet app for further inspection.

Class or Lesson Notes - module to keep records
It would complete the product if as a separate module there was a lesson or class notes option so you could record a summary of what was done during a particular lesson, and this could be attached to rooms, teachers or students etc, so that a record of total materials covered could be printed out per room, teacher, student etc.
13 votesThank you for adding a suggestion for improvement. Prime Timetable is a school timetabling software and as such, we don’t have any plans to implement features that belong to SIS/MIS software such as PowerSchool, iSAMS and similar. Instead, we support exporting timetables to SIS/MIS.

Thank you for adding suggestion for improvement. We believe that the current setup, days on the top and classes/teachers/rooms/subjects on the left, is much more usable. For instance, when switching between master views, the top (days/periods) remains the same which is inline with how other software work. Also, for 1 or 2-week timetable there is no need for horizontal scrolling/zooming which is largely avoided as an industry standard (favor vertical scroll instead). Otherwise, in bigger schools when there are many classes, teachers, rooms, etc. horizontal scroll/zoom can’t be avoided. Extra views will make things even worse and probably won’t be usable when classes are on the top. Displaying days/periods on top doesn’t require rotating the text while displaying teacher names might require rotating text for 90 degrees in order to have the same column widths for all which will further complicate the suggested view.

Adding a school calendar
It would be great if the program offered a calendar that you can customize for your individual school (start & end dates, vacations) and will allow you to change schedules for special programs or create a coverage schedule.
22 votesThere are no plans for adding calendar since there are already some great and well known calendar apps like Google Calendar, iCalendar, Outlook Calendar and similar. If exporting timetable into calendar is needed then please add it as a new idea.
