Be able to see 2 separate timetables on the screen at the same time.
I'm using this to schedule itinerant PE teachers. I have several different options I'm working through, and I set up each option as a different timetable. I'd like to be able to see my different timetables on the screen at the same time, without exporting them or otherwise needing to leave the application or close the current timetable.
1 voteYou can do that today. Prime Timetable is an online application and as such you can open two different browser’s tabs or two different browsers and resize windows to see one or more different apps with different timetables all on one screen. For instance, here is how to manage multiple windows in Windows 10: https://www.gcflearnfree.org/windows10/tips-for-managing-multiple-windows/1/ Contact us if you need more info.

Not showing teacher periods in student schedule
In some institutions teachers start working earlier for meeting purposes, those periods should not be displayed in the student view. You recommended me to eliminate those periods before printing and not saving the changes but these could lead to an chaos if unintentionally I press the save button.
1 voteThe software assumes equal days/periods for all classes, teachers, rooms and subjects so that other features could be possible such as extra views: https://primetimetable.com/help/#extra.
There are workarounds for different number of periods and different period intervals for specific resources and you can read more about that in the user guide: https://primetimetable.com/help/#period&q -
No more than __ periods of a subject per day
No more than __ periods of a subject per day (In other words - need 7 periods of Ela a week, but don't want more than 2 periods a day)
1 voteThank you for adding suggestion for improvement. This behavior is by design. The app will automatically schedule as low number of the same activities in one day as possible when you uncheck ‘Owl > Manage > Subjects > Edit > Allow subject to be taught more than once per day’. The app detects that it’s impossible to put ELA only once in a day so it won’t show related errors but the generator will try to reduce the number of repeats per day as much as possible.

Schedule meetings for teachers
However, these won't affect gaps in schedule
1 voteThank you for adding suggestion for improvement. There is an option to exclude specific subject, room, teacher or class from notifications and improvement process. In your scenario you might consider adding a subject called “Teacher meeting” and set its short name to “-” (minus without quotes), then check ‘Owl > Help > Options > More options > Exclude items with short’ name set to “-”. This is already implemented. Red marker in the bottom right corner can draw forbidden positions in any master or individual view. So you can switch to teacher master view and pick the red marker to draw forbidden positions, then switch to subject master view and use the red marker to draw forbidden positions there. If you want to forbid whole day/period just click day/period with marker selected. More about constraints in the user guide: http://www.primetimetable.com/help/#constraints&q

When a card is selected the period time times should be shown
When a card is selected the period time times should be shown at the bottom of the screen along with the other details of that card.
1 voteThe details of the last selected card (or the currently mouse overed card if there is no selection) are displayed in the bottom left corner (status bar). As you move the mouse cursor over the timetable, the related day, period and resource names will be shaded to show you the exact position. In the case of lots of periods you can horizontally zoom in so it’s pretty easy to see period time where the cards/cursor is and there is no need to duplicate information on the screen: https://primetimetable.com/help/#zoom&q

Choose a group of subjects not to be scheduled on the same day
For one of the time tables we are preparing, we have 5 subjects that we want to to be scheduled one for each day from Monday to Friday.
1 voteYou can try to simulate this constraint by using only one subject instead of 5. In that way, automatic generator will make sure that there is only one subject per day. Later, when timetable is finished, you can edit these 5 cards and choose different subject for each: https://primetimetable.com/help/#edit-cards. Hope that will suit your needs.
