- Add column called "clips" for importing clips while importing activities
- While importing, cards for activities with the same clip name will be clipped if possible
- If activities that should be clipped have different number of cards then minimum number of cards will be used for clipping and the rest will remain unclipped
- The number of imported clips is reported along with other imported resources/activities
- If clipping is not possible user will receive notification for ignored clip names

Thank you for adding suggestion for sort improvement. Obviously, you can reorder teachers any way you like by using up/down arrows in the bottom right corner of the grid. We have just published a new version which additionally allows sorting teachers by tag and then by name. In that way, you can add ‘Science’ or ‘IT’ tags for teachers and then sort grid by clicking Tags column header. That will sort teachers by department (tag) and then by name. Hopefully, that will be useful in some scenarios.

- Choose Manage > Subjects, select subject and click Edit
- Expand More and check Exclude from statistics
- Click EditActivities for subjects excluded from the statistics will not be taken into account when generating statistics/reports. For instance, you might want to exclude lunch, break, recess, teacher meeting, preparation, duty, assembly, after-school activities (e.g. study hall, pack-up) or similar. Ignored subjects and related activities are displayed in italic.

Can you create a setting that would allow you to request that a teacher not teach the same class back to back?
For example:
Mr. Smith's class has science three times per cycle. If Ms. Jones teaches Mr. Smith's science class on Day 1, I don't want her to teach them on Day 2 as well. I want at least one day in between. Please help! This is the ONLY function missing from this amazing site :)3 votesThank you for adding suggestion for improvement. This can be done on a subject level. You can create a specific subject, e.g. ‘Science for Mr. Smith class’, expand ‘Day off’ and check ‘Insert day off if taught 2 times per cycle’ and ‘Insert day off if taught 3 times per cycle’. Use this subject when adding related Science activities.
If Insert day off if taught 2 times per cycle is checked, that subject will not be scheduled on subsequent days, e.g. having that subject on Monday and Tuesday will show an error notification.
In case that Insert day off if taught 3 times per cycle is checked, having subject on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will cause error notification for a specific class, whereas Monday, Tuesday, Thursday will be valid.

Set Time Gaps between lessons
Would be great to be able to set a specific gap time (ex. 15 Min) between each lesson.
6 votesChoose ‘Owl > Manage > Periods’ to manage periods and their intervals. You can set any duration for a period and in that way you can add periods with 15-minute duration. It might be useful to pick the red marker and forbid the ‘gap period’ so it’s not counted as pause and the generator won’t automatically scheduled cards there. Additionally, choose ‘Owl > Help > Options’, expand ‘Advanced options’ and check ‘Resize periods based on duration’ if you want to show columns more realistically, e.g. you want to see a 15-minute period proportionally smaller compared to a 45-minute period. The same option is available when publishing timetable to the web, so you can fully control how the timetable will be displayed to others.

Free Period
In NYC teachers are not allowed to teach more than 3 periods in a row. I know you can set this in the parameters but I need to put “free” or what we call preparation periods in teachers schedule but the program still counts it as a period and flags it. Additionally it would be great if the program could insert a “prep” period after 3 teaching periods. This pas year I had to do it myself and the program flagged it as too many periods in a row.
6 votesHere is a solution for a free period:
- Choose ‘Owl > Manage > Subjects’, select ‘Prep’ subject and click Edit
- Expand More and check Exclude from the generator and notifications
- Click EditNon-teaching activities (teacher meeting, preparation, duty, lunch, etc.) shouldn’t affect teacher/class load, e.g. max. activities in a row, max./min. activities per day, etc., so you might consider ignoring related notifications. It’s recommended to forbid the time slots where ignored cards are placed, so the generator won’t use them for regular cards or count them as gaps.
Ignored subjects and related activities are underlined, while the ignored cards are transparent/italic. More in the user guide: https://primetimetable.com/help/#subject

Formatting
I'd love to be able to format the size of rows/columns in the schedule to more accurately reflect the length of class periods.
7 votesI am happy to report that you can resize periods based on duration. By default, all periods appear to have the same size in the view regardless of their actual duration. Choose ‘Owl > Help > Options’, expand ‘Advanced options’ and check ‘Resize periods based on duration’ if you want to change this behavior, e.g. you want to see a 15-minute period proportionally smaller compared to a 45-minute period. The same option is available when publishing timetable to the web, so you can fully control how the timetable will be displayed to others. Thank you all, for adding suggestion for improvement and voting for it!

Custom ordering of unscheduled cards.
I would love to be able to custom order unscheduled cards for a class.
For example all the maths lessons together, all the English lessons together. IN that way I can keep track of the activities I created in a more efficient way. Thanks!6 votesThank you for adding your suggestion for improvement. Unscheduled cards are now grouped by subjects (and sorted by subject position) and further sorted by card length (longer cards go first). In that way, unscheduled cards follow ordering of subjects which can be controlled using up and down arrows in the bottom right corner of the grid.
The ordering can be changed while dragging unscheduled cards and if you want to reorder/group them again just refresh the view by selecting the same view in the view picker.
